The school has worked to increase the number of clubs and activities for students at every age, beyond the broad-reaching athletic program that has been active for many years. Daily, 20-30 students pray before going to recess as part of the Rosary Club. For its musical debut, the middle school Drama Club sold out both performances in April with over 1000 viewers. In subsequent years, St. John has added a Junior Drama Club and an Intermediate Drama Club, giving students of all ages an opportunity to participate in this popular activity.
Similarly, our Technology Club has inspired the development of a Junior Technology Club. St. John also offers a First Lego League Robotics Club for middle school. Team competitions use the Lego EV3 robots to complete a variety of missions at our local community colleges, universities, and high schools. For students who enjoy the outdoors, we offer a birdwatching club in which students learn to track and identify different species of birds based on visual markings and bird songs.

Our children are the future of our faith community and our nation. The education they receive at St. John as disciples growing in faith, and students growing in wisdom and knowledge will prepare them to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Athletics
We believe in promoting a positive sports culture that promotes habits of perseverance, responsible decision-making, teamwork, prayer, and whole health. This year Saint John the Evangelist is partnering with the Play Like a Champion Today educational series.
Play Like a Champion Today is a national coach and parent education program designed by the Alliance for Catholic Education at the University of Notre Dame to elevate the culture of Catholic school-sponsored sports. Saint John the Evangelist will provide a Parent Like a Champion Today workshop for all parents. Parents receive resources that will help them contribute to building the positive culture that is the focus of Saint John the Evangelist and the Play Like a Champion program.
The St. John Athletic Association (SJAA) is a parent volunteer organization that provides our student athletes an excellent opportunity to participate in athletics, which becomes a valued component of their total Catholic educational experience at St. John the Evangelist School.
SJAA embrace these guiding principles:
- To promote character development, Christian values, leadership qualities, sportsmanship, and academic excellence in our student athletes.
- To enhance school spirit within the community of students, faculty and parish.
- To develop in our student athletes appropriate skills in their representative sports.
- To support the maintenance and improvement of St. John the Evangelist athletic facilities, equipment and the school physical education program.
